Hello Internet! Happy New Year! It's been several months since I've posted on this blog. Honestly, I was just getting burnt out from creating content and reporting on creating content. I was going into new territories with finally doing my personal best on a manga series and creating 5 new chapters. Butterfly Kisses is now up to episode 6. If you haven't read it, you can go to WEBTOONS and read it now. (Also, it's completely free and you don't need an account to log on and read it). Here's a link: https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/butterfly-kisses/list?title_no=225686 After that, I worked on writing a bit. I'm sending in my short stories to publications now. I feel like if I were to create another visual novel, it would be so much better. I've got some more things to write, but after that, I think I'll go back into making video games. Keep an eye out on these posts for more information. The next order of business is my Kickstarter! I'm creating some enamel pins. If you donate to my Kickstarter $10, you can have your pick of one of these designs. Unfortunately, I can't ship outside the US, but US residents will have free shipping. Well, this post may not be as long as the others, but I did cover everything. A lot of work and not too much talking. I hope you all have been doing good. I'll talk to you all later.
Have a good one! ~Rox

Hello Internet,
Just a quick couple of updates. Still working on the two secret projects. They are art intensive and it's taking me a while to create all that work. I've put a some of the WIP for the artwork on twitter but I've also put the tweets down here below. Also, I've unpublished "Red Chase" for now as its quality is just not up to par with my standards, especially after turning it into a novel that goes into a lot of things. Don't worry, Red Chase will be re-released one day, perhaps this year. Bye! ~Rox
Hello Internet! It is with great joy that I bring to you the second edition of my short story, “Pink Chase.” It has 50 percent more content (going from around 7,000 words to over 15,500 words, plus 3 more illustrations). After writing 9 short stories and 70,000 words for an unfinished novel, the story I present to you today is way more fleshed out and better written than anything before. Here’s some promotional pictures for you from the short story. If you’re interested in soft sci-fi and darker stories, "Pink Chase" might be just for you. Synopsis After years of hibernating, Alexander, an alien parasite that takes over and alters humans, is awake and walking around with its new host, Xana, a human transformed into a succubus. It wants to live and thrive, but the Department of Defense is out to eradicate it, especially the ever-principled Guardian Knight. This human is not to be underestimated since their predecessor destroyed it years ago. Thus, the alien decides to stalk the weakest member of the DoD, Fred. Genre: Soft, Sci-Fi; Dark Fiction; elements of horror Age Rating: Older Teen to Adult Fiction Price For those of you following the blog or even my twitter (@RoxioxxStudios), you’ll notice I gave a heads up that the awesome $.99 deal for the story was there for a limited time. The price of this short story is now… a whopping… super reasonable… amount… of… $2 (It’s really not that bad). Yeah, getting a story reviewed by a professional editor a third time takes some money, but the investment is so worth it. Now you get a better quality story. Next Steps Well, I still have a number of things going on in the background. That includes writing up the entire arc for Butterfly Kisses, two secret projects, and the slow progress of “Red Chase.” However, “Lavender Chase” (another short story of mine) is getting a quick update. The same one I gave to “Pink Chase.” That might be coming up next, but we’ll see. Having 5 projects in the active column does mean I have less certainty when anything publishes.
That's all for now. Bye! ~Rox
Hello Reader!
How are you? It's been a while since I've posted a full update on the developments. Taking that one month vacation in November really set me at ease. I haven't felt relaxed in so long, it was good to finally become calm. So, let's get started with the developments.
I took this time to work on writing and other skills, like the above pixel art you see. It was great to work on the fundamentals. I feel like everything coming out down the pipeline is going to be of higher quality, and that's what you guys like. High quality work.
Also, I've created some handmade, DS game badges. These are being sold on my etsy store. Click on the images below to be taken to that product's page. Butterfly Kisses
I've got the entire first arc planned, so as I finished scripting the first 5 chapters, I found there is a lot of fighting, and not enough talking. Like, not much character interaction or development. So, I'm currently working on gutting out half the fighting and adding in more talking scenes between the main group. I'll keep updating you on the progress.
Behind the scenes
I've got some work that I'm doing behind the scenes that can't be revealed yet. The reason is that it's in the experimental stage and may never really come to fruition, so no need to talk too much on it.
All right, hope you all have a good week! ~Rox
Thanks to everyone who helped with this work and for those of you who support my work. I've learned a lot from taking writing seriously and finishing so many short stories. Going forth, the writing quality in my work is going to be of a much higher level.
What's Next?
Well, for me, I am taking a break from working on these creative endeavors for this universe for a month. Partly because I'm burnt out from deadlines and also because I need to look for a good job now. I saved up a lot of money and gave myself a 4 month break to make content/improve skills and to see if I could make a living off of this. I did make a bit of a profit, but it's not sustainable to live like this at this moment, so these creative endeavors are returning to being a side hobby. I'm very grateful that I had this opportunity to do something like this as not everyone does. I'm also glad that I took this opportunity and not let it slip away.
I'll most likely see you guys back on December 1st. Until then, I hope you all have a good month. Stay warm. Have good food. Adios, ~Rox

~Rox Hello Internet,
Just wanted to give you a heads up. I hit my second round of editing deadline (which was today) and have sent it off to get a copy edit. Once that's done (which was ordered to be finished by Sunday afternoon) I'll do a quick review, and then launch it as soon as possible. For the first time, I'm actually hitting a declared deadline. WOO HOO! *gives self high five* *gives anyone else who's reading this a high five* After a few more of these, I might be ready to head back to working on my "A Long Journey VN." Anyways, in case if you guys were getting antsy. "Pink Chase" will be released this month. Its definitely a lot stronger in terms of writing and execution than "Red Chase" was, and the next short stories are only going to get better. Speaking of better, I also found that the default typesetting that happens to word files when uploaded to Amazon can be improved in a free software provided by Amazon called Kindle Create. What this means is when you guys open it up in an eBook reader, the text should look better. I tested it in their previewer and it might be okay... I may have to play around with this. If that doesn't work, I'll try Calibre for eBook conversions. Well, that's all, ~Rox Howdy Folks, Hope you're having a good summer. I sure have. In this update, I'd like to introduce the remaining book covers for the "Chase" Short stories. Now you can see some of the character designs of the incubus and the last succubus. These are for the stories "Crimson Chase" and "Azure Chase" and "Cyan Chase." You guys can see the entire collection on the "Chase" Short stories page. I've even updated the UX/UI of the page to have less scrolling. I still have some more work cut out on that webpage. For instance, I've got some profile pics I'd like to add to the characters. The copy on that page needs some more work. I might do some more UI work.
Now, as for the short stories themselves, I'll have two more stories developmental edited by July 16th (that is "Lavender Chase" and "Azure Chase"). I'm sill on track to have "Pink Chase" this month. I'm just a bit nervous looking at what the editor has written about it. I'll get on it as soon as the profile sketches are finished. "Butterfly Kisses" is going to have some more work done before I introduce that page. I'll keep you all updated. That's all for now, bye~! ~Rox |
