Hello Internet,
It is with great pleasure I introduce to you the second edition to my short story "Azure Chase." It has been completely redone with a different plot altogether. If you like stories where the monster/villain is the protagonist, you've got to get your hands on this right now. Also, in honor of this second edition, I'm giving away 5 copies of this book through Amazon (ebook/Kindle Store only). All you have to do is click a button to see if you get the prize or not. No extra work after that. So why not give it a try?
Synopsis
Even though Alexander decided not to replace all the humans with its parasites, simply coexisting with their constricting rules was not the life it wanted. It deserved more.
After waking up from a 13-year hibernation, the alien parasite known as Alexander looked in a mirror and observed its masterfully sculpted, newly transformed human host–it was perfect. Now, this incubus could blend in seamlessly within human society. Normal humans fell in love with it left and right, yet none offered the same wholesome relationship as its late, human daughter had. The truth was, she was well alive, but also its greatest threat. She is the Guardian Knight, leader of the Department of Defense, and her duty is to protect all residents of the Quartz region. Alexander is no exception, although it tries to become one. Its biggest hindrance to reconnecting with its daughter is its insatiable hunger for human DNA. Will they be able to reconnect or will this tale end in betrayal and death? See how this short story ends by reading this book now. Other Updates
I'm still working on mostly artwork for my characters, one of which is featured below (it's still just a WIP). However, I am devoting half my time to the full re-release of "Lavender Chase." That one should be coming up in a week or so.
As for the secret projects, they are not nearly close to completion for me to say anything about them yet. Stay tuned.

Hello Internet,
Just a quick couple of updates. Still working on the two secret projects. They are art intensive and it's taking me a while to create all that work. I've put a some of the WIP for the artwork on twitter but I've also put the tweets down here below. Also, I've unpublished "Red Chase" for now as its quality is just not up to par with my standards, especially after turning it into a novel that goes into a lot of things. Don't worry, Red Chase will be re-released one day, perhaps this year. Bye! ~Rox
Hello Internet, Been working on a whole bunch of behind the scenes things this past week, however, today's update is going to mostly focus on the updated version of "Lavender Chase" I've released today. It has some significant changes done to it with 3,000 words of exposition reduced and replace with two Chat-Tap stories. To those of you not familiar with those kind of stories, they look like a normal text conversation. Two new characters have been added to this story: Envoy Darius and Envoy Tracy, and in those conversations, you'll get to know exactly who they are quickly. I've also re-written large swathes of text so that the story is a bit tighter, however, at the moment, I've run out of time to spend my focus on this now, so this is more of a soft launch to this updated story. I'll come back to finish re-writing it after Butterfly kisses is in order. Story Info Certain sound effects, like the binaural beats of the Lavender Town music, can affect certain individuals susceptible to mental illnesses, such as depression. Some call this phenomena LTS – Lavender Town Syndrome. It would be a shame if an incubus lured you into an abandoned mental asylum at night just to exploit your mind’s weaknesses… //// ------Synopsis------ //// After 13 years of hibernation, the alien parasite known as Alexander has reawakened. The last time it was awake, it was hellbent on replacing every human being with a parasite to become them. Now, it seems like it’s ready to restart its sadistic, reign of terror with its newly transformed, beautifully sculpted and modified, human hosts (Alexander likes to call them an incubus or a succubus, for it sees itself very much like a demon). The alien decides to play a game with the human heroes: Save the woman in its grasp before it devours her alive! The Department of Defense’s leader, the Guardian Knight, wastes no time. She rushes into the abandoned mental health facility where Alexander is holding the civilian to rescue her. Meanwhile, the parasite watches her, smirking. “Oh, the fun I could have with my little hero.” In this soft sci-fi/horror short story, author Roxioxx takes an uncommon approach by telling the tale from the incubus’s point of view. The two sides are so equally mysterious and matched, it’s impossible to predict who will come out on top—the incubus or the hero. Find out what happens next by buying the book now. //// ------Basic Story Info------ //// Genre: Soft, Sci-Fi; Dark Fiction Age Rating: Young Adult to Adult Fiction Second edition released: January 2019 End of this Blog Post Yep, that's how I'm gonna end it. Talk to you later,
~Rox Hello Internet! It is with great joy that I bring to you the second edition of my short story, “Pink Chase.” It has 50 percent more content (going from around 7,000 words to over 15,500 words, plus 3 more illustrations). After writing 9 short stories and 70,000 words for an unfinished novel, the story I present to you today is way more fleshed out and better written than anything before. Here’s some promotional pictures for you from the short story. If you’re interested in soft sci-fi and darker stories, "Pink Chase" might be just for you. Synopsis After years of hibernating, Alexander, an alien parasite that takes over and alters humans, is awake and walking around with its new host, Xana, a human transformed into a succubus. It wants to live and thrive, but the Department of Defense is out to eradicate it, especially the ever-principled Guardian Knight. This human is not to be underestimated since their predecessor destroyed it years ago. Thus, the alien decides to stalk the weakest member of the DoD, Fred. Genre: Soft, Sci-Fi; Dark Fiction; elements of horror Age Rating: Older Teen to Adult Fiction Price For those of you following the blog or even my twitter (@RoxioxxStudios), you’ll notice I gave a heads up that the awesome $.99 deal for the story was there for a limited time. The price of this short story is now… a whopping… super reasonable… amount… of… $2 (It’s really not that bad). Yeah, getting a story reviewed by a professional editor a third time takes some money, but the investment is so worth it. Now you get a better quality story. Next Steps Well, I still have a number of things going on in the background. That includes writing up the entire arc for Butterfly Kisses, two secret projects, and the slow progress of “Red Chase.” However, “Lavender Chase” (another short story of mine) is getting a quick update. The same one I gave to “Pink Chase.” That might be coming up next, but we’ll see. Having 5 projects in the active column does mean I have less certainty when anything publishes.
That's all for now. Bye! ~Rox
Thanks to everyone who helped with this work and for those of you who support my work. I've learned a lot from taking writing seriously and finishing so many short stories. Going forth, the writing quality in my work is going to be of a much higher level.
What's Next?
Well, for me, I am taking a break from working on these creative endeavors for this universe for a month. Partly because I'm burnt out from deadlines and also because I need to look for a good job now. I saved up a lot of money and gave myself a 4 month break to make content/improve skills and to see if I could make a living off of this. I did make a bit of a profit, but it's not sustainable to live like this at this moment, so these creative endeavors are returning to being a side hobby. I'm very grateful that I had this opportunity to do something like this as not everyone does. I'm also glad that I took this opportunity and not let it slip away.
I'll most likely see you guys back on December 1st. Until then, I hope you all have a good month. Stay warm. Have good food. Adios, ~Rox
This short story also has a couple of quick illustrations that will be updated over time. Once again, thank you all for your support.
~Rox Glorious day to you all! It's been a while since the last update. So, to catch you guys up to speed on the behind the scenes, I've been working on "Crimson Chase" which was going to be a book with chapters. Each chapter was going to be a fully fleshed out short story that told a little bit more of the character's arcs. For instance, the chapter titled "Arachnophobia" was themed around spiders. The original goal was that each chapter would not be more than 2,000 words. There would be 7 chapters like this, so that would be a minimum of 14,000 words. I nicknamed these chapters "Mask Horror" stories. However, my estimation was WAY off, I realized "Crimson Chase" is turning more into a novel. I can't work on a longer story right now because I want to get to "Butterfly Kisses" and "A Long Journey VN" before my time runs out (my deadline was November). What I will do for now is finish off those seven chapters and submit them to online zines, and in the future, years from now, I may come back and finish "Crimson Chase." Speaking of "A Long Journey VN..." I've been working on some designs for the reboot this year! Here's some of my WIP environmental models. I just need to add some paint, some props, some resin for the pond, and then decorate the pond, and it's done! You'll notice the crystals sticking out of the ground -- that's because this is the Quartz region that ALJ VN takes place in. Doing some sculptures like these really jogged my creative juices. I can base my 2D art off of these.
As for "Butterfly Kisses," let's just say doing all these "Chase" short stories first had really paid off in the end. I've learned so much about feeling and good storytelling. Donald Maass's book "The Emotional Craft of Fiction," has really been a game changer for me. I'm really proud (for the first time) how well this manga's story is going to turn out. Well, "Azure Chase" is being released at the end of this month. I gotta get back to work. Enjoy your weekend, internet. ~Rox
