Hello Internet! Happy New Year!

It's been several months since I've posted on this blog. Honestly, I was just getting burnt out from creating content and reporting on creating content. I was going into new territories with finally doing my personal best on a manga series and creating 5 new chapters.

After that, I worked on writing a bit. I'm sending in my short stories to publications now. I feel like if I were to create another visual novel, it would be so much better. I've got some more things to write, but after that, I think I'll go back into making video games. Keep an eye out on these posts for more information.

How are you guys doing? Happy February the 13th! One of the best days of the month. Defiantly not the day after today. Anyways, this will be a chill post. Let's just talk.

It's good to be basically done with my short stories (that's the Chase Series).  Man, about a year ago, I thought the hardest thing about writing, was writing enough words for it to be a story. Now, I think the hardest part of writing is having a proper character arc. Making characters sympathetic enough so that the readers will be interested. How you do that is all dependent on your ability to communicate. Which words you use. How you execute those lines. Even, knowing when to not explain. Just let the feelings come through. Here's a tricky thing: sometimes what your characters feel is designed to make your readers feel something else. So, for Lavender Chase, in one scene Alexander is upset, but what I wanted the readers to feel is curiosity. Why is he upset? That piece the heightens the book's ending at the end that ties all the clues from before into one package. At the end of the story, it just feels so satisfying instead of being lack luster.

And hopefully, my blogs are a bit better written. Writing is like drawing. It's a skill. Some people are born with the gift, and others, like myself, have to practice like heck to get better.

It also helps to read books that are about the context of your story. I've been reading "Worthy Fights" by Leon Panetta who was a US Secretary of Defense, CIA Director, and Congressman. Since the Chase series focuses so much on government and how the Department of Defense works, his insight was indispensable. For Azure Chase, I had a scene about a mission briefing. The first version was vague and generic, and even my editor hated me for it. After taking his information (combined with Phillip Mudd's book "The HEAD Game") this scene was utterly transformed. It was filled with context and detail. Instead of saying "The Guardian Knight sat with authority," I was able to convey those feelings instead.

Hope you guys had a great Saturday. I'm personally feeling very accomplished. I've uploaded a more fleshed out version of "Lavender Chase" today. This update delves more into the Guardian Knight's character (who is the equivalent to Secretary of Defense of the Quartz Region and a Muslim woman). This version even comes with a new cover.

Anyways, I feel like the story is as good as I can make it.

I'm still working on mostly artwork for my characters, one of which is featured below (it's still just a WIP). However, I am devoting half my time to the full re-release of "Lavender Chase." That one should be coming up in a week or so.

As for the secret projects, they are not nearly close to completion for me to say anything about them yet. Stay tuned.

Yeah, getting a story reviewed by a professional editor a third time takes some money, but the investment is so worth it. Now you get a better quality story.

Well, I still have a number of things going on in the background. That includes writing up the entire arc for Butterfly Kisses, two secret projects, and the slow progress of “Red Chase.” However, “Lavender Chase” (another short story of mine) is getting a quick update. The same one I gave to “Pink Chase.” That might be coming up next, but we’ll see. Having 5 projects in the active column does mean I have less certainty when anything publishes.

Hello Reader!

How are you? It's been a while since I've posted a full update on the developments. Taking that one month vacation in November really set me at ease. I haven't felt relaxed in so long, it was good to finally become calm. So, let's get started with the developments.

I took this time to work on writing and other skills, like the above pixel art you see. It was great to work on the fundamentals. I feel like everything coming out down the pipeline is going to be of higher quality, and that's what you guys like. High quality work.

I've got the entire first arc planned, so as I finished scripting the first 5 chapters, I found there is a lot of fighting, and not enough talking. Like, not much character interaction or development. So, I'm currently working on gutting out half the fighting and adding in more talking scenes between the main group. I'll keep updating you on the progress.

I've got some work that I'm doing behind the scenes that can't be revealed yet. The reason is that it's in the experimental stage and may never really come to fruition, so no need to talk too much on it.

I think the title explains it all.

Howdy Internet,

Boy, has it been a productive week. All 5 short stories I've been working on this month, including "Cyan Chase," have been sent off for developmental edits. So, in total, that will be I've written 9 short stories at a professional level. I feel like my writing has improved by leaps and bounds and I feel confident to take the next steps towards greatness.

By the way, "Cyan Chase" will be the final story in the Chase series. I may revisit these short stories again, but right now, I've got to move onto the next project.

Last week, I announced work on Butterfly Kisses. Being a webtoon manga, it's drawing intensive. After I finish this first episode, my speed to produce art should increase greatly. There really is no way to produce great art faster other than practicing like heck. This will be the most time consuming part but the good news is everything else is done. Writing, storyboarding, paneling, webpage creation, marketing materials - done. So if I'm quiet for a while, I do apologize. It's really just me cranking out manga panels at this point.

Oh, random note, but I got a Ko-Fi account. Basically, it's a simpler way to support creatives by simply giving them enough money to buy a coffee. It's a one time payment and the money goes directly to the creative. Here's mine (this whole paragraph is basically a long link).

Lastly, I forgot to finish my train of thought with the Chase series. I wanted to have some toys / promotional items for the main character, Alexander's Succubus and Incubus clones. I've been working on the artwork for some mini dakimakura, or body pillows. There will be six in total, but right now, I've only finished the Azure and Crimson ones. Take a look at the artwork.

The fabric is on its way to being printed. I'll know in a week or so how the printing went. In the mean time, I have to finish the other 4.
