Went by a lot quicker than I was expecting. Awesome! Shading and lighting are covered in this video.
YUSSS!!! Costumes for Warrick are DONE! (At least the main one). Watch as this ends phase three.
Hello All! Happy Summer!
Hope you all are doing well in these vacation times. Here is your June Update Issue.
As of now, the first draft of episode 4 is done. Half of episode 5 is done. Episode 6 is in the planning stage. Episode 6 will have Plant Creatures in it that I had introduced over a year ago.... I did a speed paint of one of the characters. Yes, it is quite late that I finally introduced, but at least it's coming out and it'll be better than what was originally planned!
I want to put out another update for episode 1, mainly with more cutscenes to better explain the story. Man, I am so glad I did not release these episodes on the app market yet. Once I get the writing under wraps, I'll get started on the cutscenes. I'm actually taking some art classes online right now, so then I'll be able to draw better and faster.
Below is a concept design for Alexander's Super Soldier form. Al will be making a return in the far future. If you want to learn more about his fighting style, I've updated his wiki page here.
As I said before, I do not want to publish until I have episodes 4 - 7 written. Then I will finish all the cutscenes for those episodes, including the 40 I have planned for Episode 1.
Stay tuned to these news updates for the latest news.
The first three episodes are officially completed today!
It’s ironic, as I complete my last day of schooling, I also have completed the first three episodes of “A Long Journey.” That’s right, Episode 2 has been majorly updated.
Here is the series's trailer:
///What’s new with this re-release?
Well for starters, it actually makes sense now. I was rereading the story and even I had no idea what I was trying to say. So a lot of the writing has been redone, as well as adding in some better visuals, and a couple of cutscenes.
I had thought that since everything is in place, episode 2 wouldn’t take too long to remastered… I was wrong. Seeing what I had done only months ago, and how much I’ve improved since then. I can also see why it didn’t do as well as I thought it would before. It’s kinda cool, seeing what you had inside your head finally start becoming a reality. Despite my previous failures, these successes easily overweight them. I guess I can call myself an indie game developer now…. That’s awesome!
I can’t remember if I ever said this, but I love creating games for people to play them. But in actuality, this feeling didn’t fully hit until I was poisoned in the Detroit flood of 2014. I was so sick, and I couldn’t really move. My mind as stressed from the trauma. Thought I was financially wrecked at that point. All I wanted was for something to take my mind off of the situation. That’s when the free games other people had made really brightened my day. I know I’m not the only who gets sick, or just super stressed, so I wanted to give back to the world, just as other people had helped me out in one of the most toughest times of my life.
As of today, I had to turn in my computer I was borrowing from my school. Right now, I have no computer nor publishing software. That being said, this series will still be in development. I’ve already starting writing for Episode 4 – 6. As I was mentioning before, the writing is such a key factor in Visual Novels, more so than the artwork, and I need to nail that. So, for the next few months, I’ll be making sure the story is solid and some cutscenes done.
Once I can get a job, I’ll be able to get back to actually releasing the episodes again. Wish me luck in finding one!
Now for the reason why I missed the second update in April. This guy: A New Character: Bautista
I wanted to finish him before the month was over, but my exams took over too much of my life, and I just finished him this morning. He’ll be introduced in Episode 4, and becomes a very important character in the series.
Some special news: This game on Gamejolt has had over 1000 plays as of this month. That’s AWESOME~! We have 103 followers, and we’re still going strong! And I know there are a lot of people following the website as well. If I didn’t have your support, I think I’d still be making really terrible games. Because I have you, I work harder at these games than most of the things I do right now. So thank you all very much, and I hope you guys will continue staying with the series.
To those of you graduating, congratulations, and for everyone else: HAPPY SUMMER!
I’ll talk to you later!
