We keep going with finishing up the lighting and adding a Decal to Warrick's 8 new poses. Even I was skeptical at first where he'd end up, but he's really starting to shine with just a whole bunch of elbow grease put into his design. Though, this has been a really long and hard visual novel character to make....
Wow. It's been over a month since my last update. I apologize for that. Moving and dealing with a new area has been a hassle. Also, been working on a lot of things behind the scenes. Even created a new app game for google play for this series. It's called "Mahou Shoujo Anime Director VN" (long name, isn't it?) and you can check it out on the "Games" page of this site.
Anyways, for your patience, I wanted to reward you. Each episode will have it's own unique cover. Here are the ones for the first 6. Now remember, I'm remaking this entire series so I don't have any updated game files. Rest assured, A Long Journey VN is still under development. In fact, check out that game's page to see the updates I've made to it. It has a better user flow now (hopefully).
Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions. Other than that, enjoy!
Another milestone hit: all white costumes should be done by this point. Then, next episode is the final quality check, and we should have then 17 poses in 3 different costumes completed. Making the final sprite sheet up to 54 done.
Working on a completely new pose from the base form. Now you get to see the entire process in a linear fashion. Next video, we'll finish up this pose. Also, this is the Special Mommy Edition.
Working on two more faces for Warrick. Visual novel expressions can take a long time.
I decided to change plans and work on finishing some poses by getting his face done. We finish two faces. Tomorrow, another two will be done.
Since we spent such a large time making sure the setup is solid, and not using complicated layer types too much, 16 poses have progressed remarkably with the shading of the costumes stage. You'll see what I mean in this Character Design video.
Went by a lot quicker than I was expecting. Awesome! Shading and lighting are covered in this video.
Sometimes in order to progress with your artwork, you have to not do it. Sometimes, you have to spend 4 hours making sure your file is set up. Anyways, the more tedious stuff comes tomorrow.
YUSSS!!! Costumes for Warrick are DONE! (At least the main one). Watch as this ends phase three.
